Deadbolt is an open-source app for Mac, Windows and Linux that encrypts files and folders with a password. You pick the file, type a password, and it saves an encrypted copy you can send. Use it for contracts, bank statements or IDs you don't want traveling in the open. Whoever receives it needs Deadbolt and the password to open it.
