editly is an open-source tool you run in the terminal, and it needs Node.js and FFmpeg installed. You write in a file which photos, clips, text and music go in and in what order, and editly builds the video with transitions. Use it for a slideshow, a short promo, or the same format repeated many times, vertical for Instagram or horizontal for YouTube.
